Dr. Stone is a Managing Director at the PanAmerican Capital Group and is primarily responsible for raising all the debt and equity capital needed to operate the firm’s businesses, and for its investment banking clients. A native of England, Dr. Stone has worked for both major financial institutions and a specialized boutique investment banking firm as both a merchant and investment banker in New York City for the past 25 years. Among others, he worked for Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette; Commercial Union; Great American Insurance and Knightsbridge Capital. At Knightsbridge, Dr. Stone was the General Partner and manager of a private equity partnership in which the Limited Partners were Chase Manhattan Bank; The Bank of New York; Fleet Boston; ING; First Chicago; First Union; Dresdner Bank; Deutsche Bank; Bank of America; Bank One and PennCorp Financial. While General Partner of Knightsbridge, Dr. Stone also was the Chairman of PennCorp Financial Inc., a public insurance holding company.

In addition to raising capital for and making investments in mid-size companies, Dr. Stone has had extensive experience in structuring and financing commodity distribution, terminal facilities and freestanding energy and co-generation projects. Dr. Stone was the senior banker on more than US $2 billion of waste-to-energy and co-generation projects. Dr. Stone has been responsible for purchasing and capitalizing corporations in Latin America. Since 1986, Dr. Stone has specialized in raising institutional private equity capital and investing it in middle market companies inside and outside the United States. During that period, he was responsible for investing in excess of US $2.5 billion of private equity transactions. He additionally managed that portfolio of investments, and was responsible for the gains from it, which exceeded an average 60 percent annual rate of return.

Dr. Stone received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University, and his doctorate in Economics from New York University.
